There is an uncommon thematic and stylistic continuity between the four Lethal Weapon trailers that I find extremely fascinating. Each one was made many years apart, but all feature the same original music and tell a kind of story on their own. I suspect each one was cut by Richard Donner and the same team of trailer experts, because it really looks as though they watched the previous one(s) before moving on to the next. I can't think of any other franchise with trailers as linked as these. Watching the four trailers as one is like seeing a little iMovie biography of these characters' lives.
They're also just really sweet, kick-ass 1980s-style trailers.

Whoa; that is really, weirdly interesting. There's probably no other series of movies that does this, is there.
Also, which one was the best one? Was it 2? I kind of feel like it was 2. I just remember not liking 4 as much as I wanted to.
The first two work as a complete story; there are real character arcs and a lot of touching moments. But for pure action insanity, Lethal Weapon 2 takes it.
Lethal Weapon 3 is enjoyable for the character moments but the plot isn't very memorable and even puzzling at times.
Lethal Weapon 4 is more like 3 -- nice to see the guys and everybody, but the story is kind of lame.
