Pet Shop Boys - Flamboyant

This is a great video featuring lots of Japanese people doing very strange things, with one Japanese person aspiring to do something so strange that he wins a prize.

George Carlin - Religion is bullshit.

George Carlin died yesterday and in his honor, I thought I'd post one of the things I loved hearing him rant about most: religion. Damn, he was good.

The Theme Song Challenge

I challenge you to sing both of these theme songs one after another before you listen to them. It's practically impossible and you are likely to mix phrases from each song in together because they are basically EXACTLY the same.

Triumph pwns Star Wars n3rds

An oldie but so hilarious. My personal favorite insults happen at 4:15 and 5:50..

Waiter with a Fake Penis

This is totally parental dirty humor, but I couldn't stop laughing when the woman at 1:50 comes on.

If you have had the honor of meeting my mom then I'm sure that you too will know that this is EXACTLY how she would respond to this situation.

Shangri-las - Give him a great big kiss - 1965

I echo this commentary from Boing Boing:

"The reason I don't listen to oldies radio stations is because they play the same 200 songs over and over again. You'd think Otis Redding never recorded anything besides 'Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay.'

"I also hope I never again hear the Shangri-La's sing 'My Boyfriend's Back'/'Leader of the Pack.' But check out this great song of theirs from 1965, called 'Give Him a Great Big Kiss.' What can't they at least alternate this one with 'My Boyfriend's Back?'"

I absolutely agree, except for the part where he says he never wants to hear My Boyfriend's Back or Leader of the Pack, both of which I could listen to over and over again.

Ginny has unearthed some of the rare corners of her musical taste on this blog, and girl groups from the 60's is definitely one of mine. If you've ever caught me singing "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" at karaoke, you know this is true.

Just listening to this stuff gets me hyphy. The melodies, the beat, the shouting -- this here is party music.

"Grab on your dick as this bitch gets deep
Deeper than the pussy of a bitch six feet"

Bikini Kill - "Suck My Left One"

This clip comes from a video zine made in the UK in 1994. I've been in a time tunnel recently back to years ago when Bikini Kill was dominating my stereo system. I am jealouz that one Sam Humphries has seen this band and I alas did not. I FOUND IT TRAAAAAAAGIC.

Why every guy should buy their girlfriend Wii Fit.

Lene Lovich

I'm a big fan of 80's synth pop. An even bigger fan of the female musicians during this time. You can ask anyone to name an 80's female singer and you would get the typical list of cyndi lauper, nina hagen, anabelle lwin, terri nun, etc.

However I'd like to introduce you to my number two (Lauper reigns supreme in my heart)"

Lene Lovich. Lucky Number was her biggest hit. She only put out a few albums then went mia for the most part. However, this girl is amazing. Her vocal style is unique and she's the OG Goth Lolita. Enjoy.

Favorite VMA Performance

I remember watching this over and over. What he was doing at the time was ballsy. It seems silly now, but in 1997, Marilyn Manson was really controversial for his anti-god message. And I loved him for it.

MTV, a revisiting of my childhood.

There was once a time where the start of summer vacation meant that I would be watching far too much mtv. I would be able to catch up on all the videos and be able to watch video premieres. (oh hey, remember those?) The inevitable end of summer meant back to school, but more importantly the mtv video music awards. They had amazing performances and I was exposed to soo much. I'd like to post two of my all time favorite videos, the first is quite aparent, you can't have an MTV VMA convo without someone bringing this one up.

Madonna's Vogue Performance.

The Leningrad Cowboys. This performance had a profound affect on me as a kid. I was a almost 11 and I was wondering why I wasn't born Russian. Enjoy. Anyone else have any favorites?

Sandra Bernhard Dancing

I have no idea what this is from, but it's kind of awesome.

Update:  This is from Bernhard's movie "Without You, I'm Nothing."  Mystery solved!

Fox News: Obamas' Fist-Pound is Terrortastic

This is one of the most outrageous things Fox News has said yet. Seriously, they are suggesting the fist-pound can be interpreted as a "terrorist fist jab."

Video begins with some Lieberman hate, and the fist portion begins at 1:10.

Whiz Biz - Are you sure you slept with a woman?

This company makes these devices that allow you to pee standing up. Great for getting rid of that one night stand that has suddenly gone rotten in the morning.

Chris Cunningham feat. STARWARS!

The quality of the video isn't that great but I guess Chris Cunningham showcased some of his videos at the Electraglide festival in 2005. From what I can tell, the DJing isn't live but some of the videos he screened to Aphex Twin sounded like remixes...maybe they were pre-recorded? Anyway, I thought this was kind of funny.

Great Lotto Commercial

This Cat Is Totally My Homie

From Cute Overload's Cats 'n Racks category, which is totally awesome too.

The Moment of Truth - Kristina's Minute of Truth

The new season of Moment of Truth has begun and I am hooked. They have recaps of the show online which is slightly less annoying than watching the whole show. They tease the hell out of the show, thereby stretching about twenty minutes of real material out for an hour. But whatever, the show rocks when the questions end up breaking up marriages and ending friendships. GO GREED!

Found it! Part 2: FUCK CITY

Thus a legend was born.

Found it!

Celebrity Jeopardy with Ben Stiller as Tom Cruise. I cued it up for Final Jeopardy but you can see the whole thing by rewinding.

Tom Crooze

The days when vignettes from the MTV movie awards were still humorous. I was looking for the celebrity jeopardy with Ben Stiller is Tom Cruise but NBC pwns the internet with their 1337 copyright law enforcers, so this will have to do.
