The Quintessential Batman Scene?



I woke up this morning thinking about Batman -- like, more so than usual. I decided to look for a scene that I thought most efficiently embodies the classic Batman idiom. I think this 3-minute scene from Tim Burton's 1989 film is just that.

I'd have to watch it again to be sure, but I think there's a scene in Batman Begins that does it more for me in an "embodying Batman" sense.

Something about that shadow at the end of the first minute of this one always looked like it was drawn-on and animated to me. Is that crazy? I can't decide if it seems like a Tim Burtonish thing to do.

I believe that shadow is in fact animated -- CGI, even, an early example of it.
